The Domain

The domain La Crama Del Duca is located in Șiria, in an area that occupies a vast territory that lies between the Plain of Arad, the Miniș Hills and the amphitheater of the Zarandului Mountains. This area, blessed by nature, enjoys a special microclimate, particularly favourable to the Pinot Noir vine.

The vineyards are spread over a surface of about 230 hectares, mostly hilly, with clayey soils.

To confirm the search for the highest quality, a mapping study initiated in 2008 at the producers’ request, has allowed us to define the vocation of the entire zone as one particularly favorable to wine-growing. The study consisted of evaluating the combined effect of the climatical, geographical and morphological features of the territory.

The innovative system we use has allowed and still allowing us to value the interaction between the vine and its cultivation environment. This system enhances the specific behaviour and the adaptation of a variety to the place it is cultivated and it makes organic farming suitable to the area to best express the qualities of Pinot Noir.
